THE MAKING OF 6.0
Not sure if I have mentioned this before, but having a website is a pain in the ass. CAPS. It fucking sucks. It's great to put in the work and seeing the work go live.
When I first launched the site I made two mistakes:
The original name (teamroberto) came about as a college joke. We were in Production 1, we broke away into teams for the assignment. When time was up, our instructor asked the first group of guys what their team name was. These dudes would go to Subway everyday to have lunch, so one of them said "team fresh".
We all laughed, hell, I probably laughed the loudest.
Each team came up with a name that was a bit of a joke.
The team I was on was last. Then someone shouted "team roberto!"
I thought it was the dumbest thing ever.
When I was getting the domain, I remembered that moment and thought it would be the greatest in-joke ever.
I really took the plunge to launch the site once I discovered CMS (content management system). Basically building blocks for someone that cannot write a line of HTML. You drag and drop blocks and it spits out the website.
This worked great for me for many years, what sucks about CMS is that each theme depends heavily on plugins for styling.
A quick server or theme update can break your shit. That's if you are lucky. If you have my luck, your shit won't even load.
I had always turned away from the idea of trying to learn basic HTML, but this was the fifth time this shit has happened.
It came to the point where it was time to either man up or get the fuck out.
Three weeks later here we are, pure HTML and CSS. Hard coded baby.
I keep seeing brackets every time I step away from the computer.
